2024/25 Premier League Season: Who Will Win the Golden Boot?
As the 2024/25 Premier League season kicks off, aside from the excitement of which team will emerge as champions, another burning question on every football fan’s mind is: Who will win the league’s Golden Boot award?
The Premier League has a storied history of producing prolific goal-scorers, from Alan Shearer to Thierry Henry. In recent years, players like Harry Kane, Mohamed Salah, and Erling Haaland have fiercely competed for the top spot.
With the new season underway, the race for the Golden Boot is wide open, and predicting the highest goal-scorer is no easy task. One thing is certain, though: it’s going to be an exhilarating journey, full of twists and turns. Here are the top contenders for the Premier League Golden Boot award this season:
Erling Haaland: Manchester City’s star player and the winner of the last two Golden Boot awards, Haaland is a strong contender to clinch the title for the third consecutive time.
Mohamed Salah: The Egyptian King has always been a top candidate for the award. This season, Salah will be looking to reclaim the Golden Boot from Haaland.
Bukayo Saka: One of Arsenal’s most consistent players in recent seasons, Saka is a serious contender for the league’s highest goal-scorer.
Heung-min Son: Tottenham’s skilled attacker will be aiming to outscore his rivals and take home the Golden Boot.
Cole Palmer: Chelsea’s standout player from last season, Palmer showed impressive form and will be looking to build on that this season.
Ollie Watkins: Aston Villa’s striker was one of the players who pushed Haaland for the award last season. Watkins will be hoping to go one better this time around.
Alexander Isak: Newcastle’s talisman, Isak, has always delivered for his club. The Swedish international will hope to stay fit all season as he challenges for the Golden Boot.
Phil Foden: Manchester City’s midfielder scored plenty of goals last season. Foden will be aiming to replicate his performance and make a strong claim for the award.

Saka Breaks 20-Year Henry Record, Rice Sent Off As Brighton Hold Arsenal To Draw
Arsenal Held to 1-1 Draw by Brighton as Declan Rice Sees Red
Arsenal was held to a 1-1 draw at home by Brighton after Declan Rice received a controversial red card in the second half.
Despite Bukayo Saka equalling a 20-year-old club record set by Gunners legend Thierry Henry, Arsenal couldn’t secure the win. The Gunners took the lead with a goal from Kai Havertz, but Brighton equalized through Joao Pedro after Rice was sent off early in the second half.
Match Recap
Arsenal started strong, dominating much of the first half. Their efforts paid off when Kai Havertz scored, thanks to a brilliant assist from Bukayo Saka.
With that assist, Saka became the first Arsenal player since Thierry Henry in 2004 to provide an assist in each of the first three games of a Premier League season.
However, Arsenal’s momentum took a hit when Declan Rice received a second yellow card following a confrontation with Brighton’s Joel Veltman, leaving the Gunners with 10 men.
Brighton capitalized on their numerical advantage, with Joao Pedro scoring the equalizer less than 10 minutes after Rice’s red card.
Both teams had chances to snatch a late winner. Havertz forced Brighton’s goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen into a great save, while Brighton’s Jasin Ayari missed a golden opportunity, hitting Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya with the goal at his mercy. Saka also saw a late effort saved by Verbruggen, sealing the 1-1 draw.
The result marks the first time Arsenal and Brighton have dropped points in the 2024/25 Premier League season, ending their perfect starts to the campaign.
