Seyi Tinubu Launches Drug Banks to Combat Maternal and Infant Mortality in Nigeria

In a significant move to reduce maternal and infant mortality in Nigeria, Seyi Tinubu has initiated the establishment of drug banks across 60 selected tertiary healthcare institutions.

This intervention program is designed to provide essential medications to a minimum of 10,000 indigent patients at each participating tertiary health institution, complementing the federal government’s ongoing efforts in the healthcare sector.

Speaking at the official launch of the initiative at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) in Zaria, Pharm. Ojeje Amin Onimisi, who represented Seyi Tinubu, highlighted the critical need to address Nigeria’s high infant and maternal mortality rates. The project will also supply medical equipment and fund research to improve health outcomes for pediatric patients.
