The Cross River State Police have initiated a manhunt for a young woman known as Pretty Goddess, accused of luring her friend, Debit Queen, to a hotel, where she brutally assaulted her, stripped her naked, and posted the ordeal online.
The incident, which took place on Thursday evening, has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many calling for justice for the victim.
According to online videos, Pretty Goddess, whose real name remains undisclosed, discovered that Debit Queen, also known only by her alias, was allegedly involved with her boyfriend, Ralph. Enraged, Pretty Goddess lured Debit Queen to a hotel in Calabar under the guise of a friendly visit.
Once Debit Queen arrived, she was ambushed by four girls, including Pretty Goddess, who flogged and humiliated her. The assault was filmed, and the footage was later posted online, including compromising images of Debit Queen.
In retaliation, another popular blogger on X (formerly Twitter) shared nude videos of Pretty Goddess, further escalating the situation.
Debit Queen later recounted the terrifying experience in a video shared on X, expressing her shock and denying any involvement with Ralph. She claimed she was unaware of any conflict with Pretty Goddess’s boyfriend and was misled into believing the meeting was for a house party.

“There were four girls in the room,” Debit Queen said. “There was nothing I could do. She was with her friends, and I was alone.”
Despite denying the allegations of infidelity, Pretty Goddess admitted to luring Debit Queen to the hotel and assaulting her, driven by anger after discovering that Debit Queen had been in contact with her boyfriend. She claimed the attack was not premeditated but rather a result of her rage.
“I didn’t plan to beat her up. It was anger. All I wanted to know was if she had my boyfriend’s number,” Pretty Goddess explained. She also apologized, saying, “I am very sorry. I didn’t mean to take it this far. I will take care of anything you want and do anything you want. Please, find a place in your heart to forgive me.”
In response to the viral spread of the assault video, the Cross River State Police, led by Commissioner Augustine Grimah, launched an investigation and called for Pretty Goddess’s arrest. Commissioner Grimah condemned the act, highlighting the severity of the physical assault and trauma inflicted on Debit Queen.
“The arrest will assist the police in ascertaining the circumstances surrounding the disturbing incident and bringing the perpetrators to justice,” Grimah stated.
The police, through spokesperson Iren Ugbo, urged hotels to conduct thorough background checks on guests to prevent similar incidents. Debit Queen is currently receiving medical treatment in a Calabar hospital for injuries sustained during the attack.
The authorities have vowed to keep the public updated on the progress of the investigation, as they continue their search for Pretty Goddess and her accomplices.
