Ronaldo Claims 'This Is Only the Beginning' As He Closes In on Messi's Record

Cristiano Ronaldo Declares ‘This Is Just the Beginning’ After Leading Al Nassr to 4-1 Victory

Former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has declared that “this is just the beginning” following his standout performance in Al Nassr’s 4-1 league win over Al-Feiha on Tuesday.

The 39-year-old football icon played a crucial role, contributing a goal and an assist. He set up Talisca’s opening goal at King Abdullah Sport City Stadium in Buraydah within the first five minutes and scored himself later in the match.

Ronaldo is now just one goal away from equaling Lionel Messi’s record after netting his first free-kick of the season during stoppage time. This goal marked his 64th free-kick for club and country, leaving him only one behind Messi. It also brought his career tally to 899 goals across all clubs and international appearances.

In the match, Marcelo Brozovic added another goal for Al Nassr in the 85th minute. Although Al-Feiha managed to score once, Talisca struck again in stoppage time to seal the victory with a three-goal lead.

Despite the win, Ronaldo and his team trail surprise leaders Al-Qadisiyah by two points.

Following the game, Ronaldo took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate, saying, “This is only the beginning! Let’s go @AlNassrFC!”

Saka Breaks 20-Year Henry Record, Rice Sent Off As Brighton Hold Arsenal To Draw

Arsenal Held to 1-1 Draw by Brighton as Declan Rice Sees Red

Arsenal was held to a 1-1 draw at home by Brighton after Declan Rice received a controversial red card in the second half.

Despite Bukayo Saka equalling a 20-year-old club record set by Gunners legend Thierry Henry, Arsenal couldn’t secure the win. The Gunners took the lead with a goal from Kai Havertz, but Brighton equalized through Joao Pedro after Rice was sent off early in the second half.

Match Recap

Arsenal started strong, dominating much of the first half. Their efforts paid off when Kai Havertz scored, thanks to a brilliant assist from Bukayo Saka.

With that assist, Saka became the first Arsenal player since Thierry Henry in 2004 to provide an assist in each of the first three games of a Premier League season.

However, Arsenal’s momentum took a hit when Declan Rice received a second yellow card following a confrontation with Brighton’s Joel Veltman, leaving the Gunners with 10 men.

Brighton capitalized on their numerical advantage, with Joao Pedro scoring the equalizer less than 10 minutes after Rice’s red card.

Both teams had chances to snatch a late winner. Havertz forced Brighton’s goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen into a great save, while Brighton’s Jasin Ayari missed a golden opportunity, hitting Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya with the goal at his mercy. Saka also saw a late effort saved by Verbruggen, sealing the 1-1 draw.
