The Federal Government has revealed the identity of a Canada-based woman who allegedly made threats against fellow Nigerians living in North America.
In a video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), the woman’s voice is heard making anti-Yoruba comments during what appears to be a virtual TikTok meeting. She primarily spoke in Pidgin English.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), identified the woman on Wednesday, August 28, as Amaka Patience Sunnberger.
In the video, Sunnberger is heard saying, “Record me very well; it’s time to start poisoning the Yoruba and the Benin. Put poison in your food at work. Put poison in your water, make una dey kpai one by one.”
She went on to claim that she planned to bring poisonous substances to her workplace to harm any Yoruba or Benin people she encountered, stating that her threats were a response to the “hate” against the Igbo. Other voices in the video can be heard encouraging her.
Sunnberger, who identified herself as a resident of Ontario, Canada, dared anyone to report her to Canadian authorities.
Dabiri-Erewa shared the woman’s photo and noted that she had deleted her TikTok account. She added that a group of Nigerians in Canada are officially reporting Sunnberger to the relevant Canadian authorities.
