400-Level Student Dies During Hiking Expedition in Minna

A tragic incident occurred in Minna, where Oluwaseyi David Adebayo, a 400-level student from the Department of Animal Production, lost his life during a hiking expedition.

Oluwaseyi embarked on the hike with some of his colleagues on August 10 when he tragically slipped from a hill and fell into a fish pond, leading to his untimely death.

Reports indicate that locals in the area where the accident happened refused to release Oluwaseyi’s body until rituals were performed to prevent similar occurrences affecting others.

Initially, the university authorities resisted these demands, but concerned individuals eventually intervened, paying the required amount and providing a white ram for the ritual.

The university’s Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Lydia Legbo, stated that the university was unaware of these developments four days after the incident.
