Hamas Takes Responsibility for Tel Aviv Terror Attack, Israeli Officials Confirm

On Monday, Hamas and Islamic Jihad jointly claimed responsibility for a bombing in Tel Aviv that occurred the previous day, resulting in the death of the suspected attacker and injuries to a bystander. The Associated Press reported that the bomb detonated prematurely. Security footage showed the suspect carrying a large backpack shortly before the explosion, and Israeli media cited police sources suggesting that the intended target was a nearby synagogue.

Hamas’ militant wing, along with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s militant wing, issued a statement confirming their involvement in the attack. The Al-Qassam Brigades and Saraya Al-Quds described the incident as a “martyrdom operation” and vowed to continue their attacks in response to Israeli policies, including civilian displacement and targeted assassinations.
