Gbajabiamila Shares Insights on 2025 Budget Expectations
The President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, has announced that the 2025 budget for State House agencies will be meticulously crafted based on a comprehensive needs assessment.
During a press briefing on Wednesday, August 21, in Abuja, following a one-day fact-finding tour of various government agencies under the State House, Gbajabiamila emphasized the necessity of aligning budget allocations with actual needs.
“In any country, resources are finite. Our focus is on prioritization. Where do we stand? What have the agencies achieved? How do they measure up to their mandates, and how crucial are their mandates in relation to the administration’s vision and the Renewed Hope Agenda?” Gbajabiamila remarked.
Restructuring Underperforming Agencies
The Chief of Staff also pointed out the possibility of restructuring within the agencies, suggesting potential mergers or even the elimination of underperforming entities, though he clarified that these changes would not affect State House agencies.
“In 2025, we will not budget in a vacuum. Our budgeting will be based on needs assessment,” he reiterated.
Gbajabiamila assured that the Presidency is dedicated to enhancing staff welfare and working conditions within the State House agencies.
He encouraged the staff to embrace innovation and professionalism, supporting their leaders in achieving success.
Accompanied by key officials, including Deputy Chief of Staff Ibrahim Hadeija, Gbajabiamila’s tour included visits to agencies such as the Nigeria Agriculture and Land Development Agency and the Bureau of Public Procurement.
