NLC President Joe Ajaero Returns to Labour House After Police Questioning
Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), has returned to the Labour House after responding to a police invitation. Ajaero reported to the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday morning, accompanied by human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, and other supporters.
The police had invited Ajaero as part of an investigation allegedly related to terrorism financing. This invitation sparked controversy, with the NLC and other labour unions accusing the Federal Government of trying to intimidate labour leaders.

Before Ajaero’s appearance at the Force Headquarters, labour members gathered in solidarity at the NLC headquarters. Starting as early as 8:00 a.m., Labour leaders and members converged at the NLC HQ to show their support for Ajaero.
Videos shared on the NLC’s official X handle captured labour leaders addressing workers who stood firmly behind Ajaero during this tense period.
