Tinubu Appoints New National Hajj Commission Chairman
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has removed Jalal Arabi from his role as Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and appointed Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman as the new Executive Chairman.
According to Ultranaija, Jalal Arabi is currently defending himself against corruption charges brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
On Monday, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, announced the leadership change, stating that Professor Usman will replace Arabi.

Professor Usman is a respected academic with qualifications from the University of Madinah and Peshawar University in Pakistan. He has extensive experience in Hajj operations, having previously chaired the Kano State Pilgrims Board, where he managed the largest quota of state pilgrims in Nigeria.
The appointment of Professor Usman is pending confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.
Ngelale emphasized that President Tinubu expects the new NAHCON Chairman to perform his duties with integrity, transparency, and a strong commitment to the nation.
