Controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, has publicly thanked several celebrities who came to his aid financially while he was in prison.

Bobrisky took to Instagram to show his appreciation for the support he received during his six-month sentence for naira abuse. He was released from jail on August 5, following a conviction that drew considerable attention.

The sentence, handed down by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos, was strict, with no option for a fine. The judge intended for the punishment to serve as a deterrent to others who might disrespect Nigeria’s national currency.
