BAO: The Supremo Of Ibadan North Politics; He Lead Others Follow || By MT
Bashorun Adekunle Oladeji: A Master Strategist and Visionary Leader
Unapologetically, Bashorun Adekunle Oladeji (BAO) is a master strategist in the game of politics, and I stand firm on this.
One of the things that amaze me about this young and intelligent politician is how he carries out his duties with such precision. I won’t delve too deeply, but those who have had the chance to engage with him understand the wisdom and clarity he brings to every interaction.
I don’t follow people blindly, and it’s not in my nature to praise someone without having experienced or observed their actions firsthand.
Unfortunately, we live in a society where people often judge without knowing the facts, spreading unfounded stories that tarnish reputations. We reside in an environment where hearsay becomes the truth without any attempt to verify the information before it spreads.
Bashorun Adekunle Oladeji is not only intelligent and smart but also incredibly composed. I often refer to him as “stainless” because, throughout his tenure as the Pioneer Chairman of Aare Latoosa LCDA, he performed exceptionally well.
In fact, our late Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, of blessed memory, was always proud of his administration. BAO is a young man who blends political experience with administrative excellence.
He continually introduces new systems and dynamic styles in politics, a skill he has honed since his undergraduate days when he coordinated youth communities with distinction—a record he maintains to this day.
Having individuals like BAO in leadership positions brings countless benefits to our community. This young man consistently delivers and will continue to excel in any role he takes on.
People often call him a philanthropist, and rightly so, but I see him as a rare philanthropist with deep faith. Even after leaving office, he continued to serve the people with financial discipline and provided essential services with the utmost respect.
The legacies BAO established at Aare Latoosa LCDA are indelible. He is a man of letters and has made history. We all know that he is not an accidental politician.
While he may have been born into a political family, he has never treated politics as just a job. He is highly distinguished and handles both public and political matters with great respect.
Promoting individuals like BAO for qualitative representation will always yield positive results, especially at a time when Ibadan North FC is in dire need of competent representation and leadership.
BAO is poised to bring about political development and will undoubtedly work tirelessly to create a more habitable environment and a thriving constituency.
As Abraham Lincoln once said, “You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.”
It is our responsibility to support the candidacy of Bashorun Adekunle Oladeji. This is a project we must all invest in to ensure a bright future for the younger generation. He will deliver on:
– Educational support activities
– Human capital development
– Youth empowerment and community engagement services
– Party interests and welfare
– Party committee and leadership development
BAO is coming to renew our hope in Ibadan North. He has done it before, and he will do it again.

Why We Declared 2023 Presidential Election Results At 2AM – INEC
Eighteen months after the 2023 presidential election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has addressed concerns regarding the timing of the result announcement made in the early hours of March 1, 2023.
In that election, President Bola Tinubu, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared the winner with 8,794,726 votes, defeating his rivals: Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
The announcement, made by INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu at approximately 2 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, led to questions from some Nigerians who wondered why the results were declared during the early hours instead of the daytime.
Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the INEC Chairman, responded by explaining that during presidential elections, Nigeria is treated as a single constituency. This means the collation of results from across the entire country is a lengthy process.
He emphasized that the process involves waiting for results from polling units, wards, local governments, and states, all of which must be presented at the national level in Abuja.
“The Chairman had to wait for 36 returning officers, including those from remote areas such as Sokoto and Maiduguri, to present their results as required by law,” Oyekanmi explained.
He also clarified that neither the Constitution nor the Electoral Act specifies a particular time for announcing election results.
“In a presidential election, the entire country is treated as one constituency. Results are declared at polling units, then collated at the ward, local government, and state levels before being presented in Abuja to the Chief Electoral Commissioner. Many people misunderstood this process and criticized the 2 a.m. announcement,” Oyekanmi said.
Oyekanmi further noted that the INEC Chairman must personally interview the returning officers, questioning them and possibly sending them back if their reports are unsatisfactory.
“Only after all figures from the returning officers, including those from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), are accepted, can the results be collated and announced. The delay led to claims that we declared the results in the middle of the night,” he added.
He also referenced a similar situation in 2015, stating: “Prof. Attahiru Jega declared the 2015 results around 4 a.m. The constitution does not prescribe a specific time for declaring election results.”
